Stripping

In Ontario, Canada, Mechanized surface stripping is a technique used to remove vegetation and soil from rock areas. Pressurized water pumps with water hoses wash away debris, exposing the rock beneath. This process can provide information about the type of rock and any minerals present. Mechanized surface stripping is often used to create geological maps and guide future exploration.

This process, in conjunction with power washing, allows geologists to observe, map and sample the features of interest.
